About Pat Haley

Pat Haley has been a successful artist for over 35 years. Recently, she began painting oil portraits of beloved pets on commission. Pat attended Paier College of Art. She is recognized for her graphite pencil drawings for the Paul & Company, Branford, Ct. and for her Native American era of art from the 1980's and 1990's.

My portraits are painted from photos provided by pet owners. The more visual information I have, the more accurate a portrait I can create. I work from a 5x7 photo and, if possible, an 8x10. I need a well lit, in-focus close up of your pet. Mailed photos are preferred for their clarity over emailed photos. Multiple photos are welcomed. Below, my suggestions for taking photos of your pets:

A deep understanding of dogs, as well as her love for them, infuses the life and work of Pat Haley. Not only does she capture the form and gesture of an animal subject, but such is her empathy that she enters into its very being, to convey with brush and paints its thinking and feeling, thus capturing its individuality. - Dorcas MacClintock | author, Animals Observed in Art
