Testimonials

Pat, we have enjoyed your beautiful portrait of Nome our St. Bernard for several years. It was especially comforting during her final days and the months after she passed. It has more life than a photo and the superb painting technique makes it a treasure.

A deep understanding of dogs, as well as her love for them, infuses the life and work of Pat Haley.  Not only does she capture the form and gesture of an animal subject, but such is her empathy that she  enters into it's very being, to convey with brush and paints it's thinking and feeling, thus capturing its individuality.

Dear Pat,

I will never forget the profound emotion I felt as I opened the wrapped package you presented to me and I viewed the portrait of my cat, Spyke. I looked into his eyes that you portrayed so vividly, strikingly and stirringly and and had to look away for I was overcome with an indescribable feeling of both sorrow and joy. I felt joy because I was looking into the soul of Spyke through his eyes and he was looking right back at me just like he always did in full life. I felt sorrow because it brought to the surface the suppressed emotions I had inside me and realized again the life I had with him was no more.

Your patience, passion and commitment to excellence is reflected in how you manage to capture the essence and likeness of beloved pets through your attention to detail especially through your portrayal of their eyes. I have seen other portraits you have painted and I cannot describe to you how I feel it connects to the soul of a deceased pet and brings him/her back to life.

I will always treasure Spyke’s portrait as much I hold dear his memories that gave so much to my life. You have my heartfelt gratitude for giving me this special gift of fond remembrance.

Sincerely,

—DR. Terrence C., DVM,  New Haven, CT—

Pat, I should have done this long ago, but I hope you know that the portrait you painted of Sherman is a real treasure!  Having the Yale mascot is both a privilege and a burden, and Sherm, -our fourth one- will be the last.  So it seemed appropriate to mark the occasion with something really special.  Thank you for your patience and really "getting" Sherm, you clearly have an affinity for dogs which makes your work so successful, you made it look easy!

I have recommended you to friends and will continue to do so, you have a real talent and I hope your business continues to grow as it should!

Thanks again,

"I love, love, love  Pat's painting of my minature poodle, Lily.  She has skillfully captured the essence of my beloved pet.  I proudly display Lily's portrait in my Hamden bookstore, and customers recognize the likeness, frequently commenting favorably on it.  Some even ask to buy it, but it is NOT for sale!  What a great decision I made to have Pat paint Lily."

"Our dear Golden retriever was special to so many people. I had seen a portrait Pat painted of a dog which was immediately identifiable, and so I asked her to do a portrait of our pet. She took time to visit and photograph Arthur so she could capture his personality. It is exactly him. He now hangs where he continues to be part of our home. It is a gift to paint a personality!"

“The painting of Gus was a surprise christmas gift for my husband. Tom LOVED the painting, as it seemed to capture the true essence of his personality. we so appreciate the attention to detail.

As Gus ages,it is wonderful to have a portrait of him as he truly is and how we will always remember him in the future. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”
